A Floor Built to Take a Beating.
How the flake finish is built up
- You pick the flake blend and how heavily it's broadcast — light and speckled, or a full refusal coat
- Heavier flake hides more: slab imperfections, patch lines, and everyday dust
- Flake is broadcast into the wet base coat, then sealed under a clear top coat
- The blend gets chosen against your walls and cabinets, not from a chip in isolation
- It's the layer that makes the floor read as finished rather than painted
We bring the flake samples to the consultation. Blends look very different at floor scale than they do on a small chip.
What changes about living with the floor
- The flake itself gives the surface texture, so it isn't slick underfoot when it's wet
- Sealed and non-porous — spills sit on top instead of soaking into the slab
- Bare concrete sheds dust constantly; a coated floor stops that at the source
- Wipes or hoses clean, including road salt and beach sand
- No more staining from oil drips, and nothing to reseal every couple of years

Why prep is the whole job
- We mechanically grind the slab open first, so the system bonds into the concrete itself
- Cracks get repaired and any old coating comes off as part of prep
- Roll-on box-store kits bond to whatever is on top — sealer, dust, old paint — which is why they lift
- Properly bonded, it resists hot-tire pickup, oil and winter road salt
- We build over two days: epoxy base and flake on day one, polyaspartic clear coat on day two
- Vehicles stay off for seven full days after the top coat, which is what full hardness actually takes
We don't sell the one-day floor. Rushing the base coat is exactly what makes a coating peel, so we let it cure overnight before the top coat goes on. If a slab is too far gone we'll tell you at the consultation rather than coat over a problem, and you'll get real cure dates in writing.

What Shapes the Investment.
A coating quote is mostly about square footage and what shape the slab is in. Here's what we're actually looking at when we walk your garage — no price sheet, because the concrete decides a lot of it.
Square footage
A one-car, two-car, or three-car slab is the starting point. Bigger floors cost more in total but usually less per square foot.
The condition of the concrete
This is the variable people don't expect. Cracks, pitting, spalling, and old failing coatings all need repair or removal before anything new goes down.
How we prep it
We mechanically grind the slab so the coating bonds to the concrete instead of sitting on it. Prep is the difference between a floor that lasts and one that peels in two winters — it isn't where to save.
The coating system
We build a pigmented epoxy base under a polyaspartic clear top coat, which is the combination that holds up to UV, chemicals and hot tires. Flake density and top-coat choice shift with whether the door stays open all summer and what gets parked on it.
Flake colour and density
A light broadcast shows more of the base coat; a full broadcast is a heavier, more decorative finish that hides dust and imperfections better.
Moving what's in there
The garage needs to be empty to grind and coat. If there's a lot to shift, or shelving to unmount, that's worth factoring into the plan.
